Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine which involves using fine, “thread like” sterile needles along certain points on the meridians or pathways on the body, that move the energy flow and unblock the stagnant qi in the body.

Acupuncture and Chinese medicine date back several thousand years, the premise of which is a belief in the whole body concept of health, which involves the inter-relationships of the body, mind, spirit, and emotions. Therefore, a person is treated as a whole and not just for individual symptoms, thereby bringing the whole body back into balance.

In a modern day perspective, scientists believe that acupuncture regulates the nervous system, which in turn releases certain neurotransmitters and endorphins, which help the body’s capability to heal itself. Much research has been done in how acupuncture can benefit one’s health, and some of the physiological effects noted are decreased inflammation, relief in muscle spasm and decreased pain as well as increased circulation and improved immunity.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Constitutional facial rejuvenation treatment using the ancient technique of acupuncture can improve muscle tone of the face and neck while addressing underlying imbalances that may have contributed to the aging process. This technique uses the whole body to heal from within by increasing the flow of qi (energy) and improving the blood circulation which ultimately reflects on the face and contributes to a healthy glow.

The “shen” or what is called the spirit in Chinese medicine reflects on the face of a healthy body and mind.

Why does skin sag?

As we get older, it becomes more difficult for qi to flow upwards to “lift” the face. This leads to inadequate muscle tone, and over time, wrinkles and sagging skin. A variety of factors can contribute to this—poor diet, digestive issues and poor circulation, insomnia or emotional and environmental stressors.

Give your skin a lift

Acupuncture tightens pores, improves, muscle tone and dermal contraction, while enhancing and increasing the elasticity of the skin. It can reduce signs of aging by strengthening and stimulating the circulation of qi within the meridian pathways, especially those of the face. Through a succession of treatments, you will look and feel more energetic, calm, vibrant, and healthy.

Facial rejuvenation with acupuncture and TCM is virtually painless, and a non-surgical method to reduce the signs of aging.

Auricular Acupuncture

Originated in Europe in the 1950s and is based on the original practice of Chinese medicine. It is a complementary treatment that can be used in addition to general acupuncture or as a separate modality on its own. There are about 200 points on the ear that

pertain to specific areas of the body and its organs. When a specific point is stimulated, it sends electrical impulses to the brain, which in turn targets the areas in the body being treated.

Auricular acupuncture can help with a variety of conditions, though it is used mostly for treating pain and detox. It also has great benefit in treating anxiety based disorders.

At Healing Acupoints, we use needles and ear seeds as a part of treatment program to help patients that need the long term benefits of ear acupuncture.
